"Vingt Ans Après" will take place in the five-star hotel "Pullman
Timi
Ama Sardegna" located on the southern tip of Sardinia
near the small town of Villasimius. We were very happy
with the venue in 2009. One of the FTM mafiosi (AZ) re-examined
the hotel thoroughly and was fully satisfied that it remained
attractive. Below are his
observations:
HOTEL:
nice
rooms, reasonably large and well-furnished, excellent air
conditioning, fantastic views from some but even garden
views are fine (greenery, bushes). Large,
well-maintained grounds, with a little golf cart train
going down to the beach every few minutes. The beach
is a long and perfect stretch of sand, with umbrellas and
lounge chairs, but it's possible to take a few steps to
the deserted public beach. The water is absolutely
pristine and marvelous. Water sports
available. Good tennis courts, as well as a small
soccer field, archery, etc. - all free for the guests to
use. Overall a luxurious place.
CONFERENCE FACILITIES: large conference room on the top floor giving out onto a terrace with a marvelous view of the lagoon and the sea.
Air: The closest airport is Cagliari (CAG) which is 55 km away from the hotel (shuttle service will be arranged for arrival and departure days, June 10, 14 and 16, rental cars available). The Cagliari airport is served by British Airways (from London), Lufthansa (from München and Frankfurt), Alitalia/AirOne (frequent service from Milan and Rome), Easyjet (from Geneva, London, and Milan), Meridiana Eurofly (from multiple cities), and Ryanair (from Madrid, Milan, and Pisa). Booking in advance is recommended for reasonable fares (which climb quickly as summer approaches). Note that the city of Cagliari is an interesting place with a picturesque historical center. Those who plan to fly out of Cagliari early in the morning may wish to stay in one of the numerous hotels there (which would be cheaper and easier to connect to the airport). For example, the Holiday Inn Cagliari (not in the historical part of town) is convenient to the airport and affordable. The departure day shuttle bus can make a stop at the Holiday Inn as needed.
Arrival and Departure
Airport Transfers: Arriving
passengers will be met inside the airport hall by a driver
holding an “FTM-2018” sign. In many cases, the shuttle
accommodates more than one incoming flight: please check in
with the driver to make sure he is aware that you have
arrived. If you are coming to join the shuttle from town
or from the ferry terminal, please find the arrivals area and
look for the driver there. Arrivals, June 10-14 (Excel

appears on the schedules, please be sure to check that your
flight info is correct (and let Alex know if not!). If
it does not, it means you are arriving on a nonstandard day
(in some cases, we will be able to arrange transfers, you will
be contacted directly within a couple of days.
