Travel Information

Hotel: The Workshop will take place in the Eurotel Punta Rotja, located on the north-eastern coast of Mallorca.  One of the FTM mafiosi (AZ) visited the hotel in June of 2014, together with the local arrangements chair Enrique Calleja, and both were favorably impressed. Below are some of their observations:

Arrival Day:  the arrival day is Sunday, June 21. The conference will begin on Monday, June 22nd as usual.
Please examine the Shuttle Bus Schedule and look for your name therein.  If you are arriving on June 21 and counting on the shuttle, but do not see your name on the list, please notify Alex Zaslavsky of your flight info.  If your name is on the list, but you do not need the shuttle (e.g. renting a car), please notify Alex as well.
Meeting Instructions: After collecting your luggage, please head to the Viajes Mijura office (see map) to meet your bus/taxi driver.

Departure Day:   the Workshop ends on Friday, June 26. If you are leaving on June 26 and counting on the shuttle, please examine the Shuttle Departure Schedule and look for your name therein. If do not see your name on the list, please notify Alex Zaslavsky of your flight info. Some of you have a flexible schedule: you can join any shuttle (but not taxi) up to the capacity of 16, so please select your favorite.

Air: The main Mallorca airport is Palma (PMI) which is 70 km away from the hotel, an hour's drive on excellent roads (shuttle service will be arranged for arrival and departure days, June 21 and 26, rental cars available).  The PMI airport has non-stop service by major airlines from many European cities: London (British Airways or Iberia), Paris (Iberia), Rome (Alitalia), Frankfurt (Lufthansa), Geneva and Zurich (Swiss), Madrid (Iberia).  It is well-served by European  low-cost carriers: Ryanair, Easyjet, Vueling have frequent service from many cities.  Booking in advance is recommended for reasonable fares (e.g. Rome-Mallorca R/T can be had for under 100 euros in June, if booked 3 months in advance).

Auto/Ferry: There are ferries to Mallorca from Barcelona and Valencia on the Spanish mainland, as well as from other Balearic islands (Ibiza and Menorca).  While most of the ferries go to Palma, there is a daily Barcelona-Alcudia ferry that takes under 7 hours and arrives a little closer to the hotel location.

Map:  For those who drive from PMI here are the hotel maps (look for the map to Palma airport,  or download that map in PDF, 473 kb). Taxi ride from PMI to the Hotel is 50 minutes and costs €80.

Sailboat:  The hotel has a small marina, so for the ultimate in stylish travel, sailing in is always an option.

Further specialized questions:  The sophisticated questions related to travel to/from the island and/or how to combine conference business with personal tourism, can be addressed to the savvy gentleman who handles our hotel reservation:
